I officially submitted my Columbia application. It feels great to have it done. I just have to wait now. There is such a slight chance that I will get in that I am trying not to have the 'if I get in' thoughts. There is always next year...
A few weeks ago I got to meet Lucy Calkins. She is an author and leader in the field of literacy. It was like meeting someone famous (not like us weekly famous, more education weekly famous), i was tongue tied and dopey, but i met her. Then like all obnoxious fans, i asked to take a picture with her. so here is the photo...
Lucy is the head of the literacy specialist department at Columbia. Someday I hope we're friends and I can bring out this photo and we can have a laugh. Or maybe that would be the end of our friendship.

Woot! I hope you become a Columbia...hmm what's their mascot? I'm guessing an Owl.
ReplyDeleteWhy does that white woman have on an asian kung fu outfit?
The mascot is Roar-ee the lion.
ReplyDelete(Rory Gilmore should have gone to columbia instead of yale.)
you're blogging again! you're back!
ReplyDeletecongrats on getting the application in. i will cross my fingers and toes for you.
Rory Gilmore totally should have gone to Columbia, except then she wouldn't have been able to visit home so much.
Yeah, no more 6 week break on the blogs. Erik and I so wish we lived in NYC and not in SmellLA, and worse he lives in Newport Bitch, so we need updates on all that is jazzy up in the hizzy, ie The Apple. Be our Carrie Bradshaw!
