i can't believe february is over tomorrow!  it was a full month and posting a picture a day has been fun.  i am looking forward to a slower march, but we are probably moving so i think that there may not be as much rest as i am hoping for.  march brings more sunshine and the beginning of spring though, both of which i am desperately looking forward to!

improvised patchwork block i made with denyse yesterday.  we had to blindly pick fabrics out of paper bags (denyse calls it the paper bag method).  it is amazing how much sewing i got done when i did not have to labor over which fabrics to put where, and you know what?  the blocks came out pretty cool looking when we put them all together.  i am now itching to do a paper bag method quilt, but cut up my own fabrics and blindly put them together.  if only i did not have so many other things to sew first...

a superhero cake for my little superhero and his friends. a coworker made it and it truly made the party.  plus not only did it look amazing but it tasted delicious.  there was nothing i did not love about his cake.  thank you pam!

when sam and i craft together it reminds me of when we were just starting out and we had time and energy to make everything, from christmas cards to wedding invitations to thank you cards. i need to carve out time and energy for more of that now.

my little boy turned FOUR today. FOUR. FOUR. no matter how many times i say it, it just doesn't seem like it can be correct. i must have miss counted somewhere. but then he shows me the lego space ship he built all on his own, complete with cargo area for holding a snowboard, and announces "i can make this now, because i am FOUR.' four it is. happy birthday little one!
