it fits (finally!)

the bonnet that i knit for maeve last christmas finally fits her! i knit so tight that i try to knit with larger needles but sometimes my gauge gets thrown totally off in the other (bigger) direction. but luckily her head grew in the last year, woo hoo!

i am diligently trying to finish a tunic i am knitting for her (that i started in the summer!) for this christmas.  i think i can, i think i can...

this boy is three. he is concentrating on making a really good birthday wish. when he concentrates his tongue sticks out. i love that about him.

christmas handknits

{bonnet for maeve}

{turquoise hat for calvin}

i finished two hand knits this christmas. a bonnet for maeve using the pattern in last minute knitted gifts and a turquoise hat for calvin (which he requested) using the pattern in baby knits for beginners.

i am a very slow knitter, especially if i am trying to knit from a pattern. i did get some help from omi, who is an expert knitter, who showed me how to knit and purl a little differently and i increase my speed significantly, but completely changed my gauge.

i will keep at it though, stitch by stitch, row by row.

::shoes:one pair to gift and one to keep::

::cloth diaper burp cloths::

the last month has been filled with graduation, lots of knitting and sewing, and spring planting. school ends wednesday and then i am ready for some relaxation time before baby makes her debut. if only the rain would stop so that i could lay in the hammock, sipping lemonade. i am trying to make the most of these rainy days and chip away at my crazy long, must do before baby arrives to-do list. i am off to do just that.
