Cal Poly Girls Reunion 2006

The reunion this year was at my new house. Crissy, Amy, Jill, Ari, and Lisa made it this year. We missed Brynley, Kristin and Trisha. We did lots of shopping and lots of eating (as usual). I really needed the time to reconnect with old friends. Here are some photos...

we are getting everything organized in our new house. the floors look good, but the walls leave a bit to be desired. i can't wait for them to be painted.

jen and kelly came for a visit. it was fun to see this on this coast. this is jen and kelly's favorite room. (if you come to visit you would see that the cupids on the wallpaper are blindfolded.)



we leave for the OBX on friday. i can't wait. then the college girls come for a visit the week after that. i am so excited to see all of them and spend time with old friends, reminiscing and making new memories.

sam and i are finally official homeowners! we moved into our new home last weekend and we like it. we have lots of plans to make it the home of our dreams, but for now it is pretty darn good. we have a lot of lawn. we might get a ride mower. i hope y'all come visit soon! more photos to come...

I am somewhat happy that it is not a 'no',but then I am wondering how can they just put off my application? How can it just not get reviewed? Were they tired of reading cheesy application essays and decided to just put the rest off until next year? Does this mean that they like me but don't have space right now ( I did apply during the 'space available only' application period)? I am so confused...

I officially submitted my Columbia application. It feels great to have it done. I just have to wait now. There is such a slight chance that I will get in that I am trying not to have the 'if I get in' thoughts. There is always next year...

A few weeks ago I got to meet Lucy Calkins. She is an author and leader in the field of literacy. It was like meeting someone famous (not like us weekly famous, more education weekly famous), i was tongue tied and dopey, but i met her. Then like all obnoxious fans, i asked to take a picture with her. so here is the photo...



Lucy is the head of the literacy specialist department at Columbia. Someday I hope we're friends and I can bring out this photo and we can have a laugh. Or maybe that would be the end of our friendship.
